Hey, how about our "Little Leaguers" from Mission Viejo? They are the National Champs! While that incredible bunch of 11 and 12-year-olds were unable to win the final game against Mexico for the World Championship, they played their hearts out to the very end, and showed a lot of class. As one mother said, "They left here as kids, and came back as young men." So true . . . And yes, WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!

Hats off to the people at Wall Mart! The have refused to stock an extremely violent and bloody video game produced by a Southern California company. It seems that the "bottom line" took second place to "what's right for our kids". Thank you Wall Mart . . . hopefully others will follow your lead.

Don Trotter has joined our staff with a regular column on Organic Gardening. He promises to tell you everything you'll ever need to know to plant that "perfect" organic garden.

On a more solemn note, Diana Oestrich, who teamed with Elliott Landy to write our Film Reviews, among many other projects, passed away recently. She will be missed. Our condolences to the staff at LandyVision.

Saturday, September 20 is California Coastal Cleanup Day. Volunteers will be cleaning up the beaches, inland waterways, parks, roadsides and highways from 9 a.m. to noon. If you have the time to volunteer, please call (800) COAST-4U. THEY NEED YOUR HELP! GET INVOLVED! And volunteers will receive a Brita water pitcher from the event sponsor.

Our next issue (November / December) will be the "Holiday" issue, featuring "Angels". If you have an "Angel" story you would like to share E-mail, Fax, or e-mail it to us by September 20 for possible publication in this special issue.

That's all for now . . . .
