In 1992 Healing Hands School of Holistic Health started massage technician training programs at Mira Costa Community College and Irvine Community College. This was the first time a community college offered a
massage technician program in the state of California. Gone are the days when massage meant only Swedish massage. Currently Healing Hands School offers a broad range of massage and bodywork modalities including Swedish (or circulatory) massage, Deep Tissue manipulation, Shiatsu, Reflexology and Sports Massage. Among the many specialized courses offered by Healing Hands is Hypnotherapy, Thai massage, Herbology, and Cranio-sacral therapy. According to Paula Curtiss, Co-Director of Healing Hands, "We also offer several practicum classes where we work on specific areas of the population. There is a Geriatric Massage class where students work with the elderly at convalescent homes."
 

Healing Hands School offers the most affordable 100 hour massage training program in San Diego and Orange counties. Again, to quote Ms. Curtis, "At Healing Hands School of Holistic Health, we believe that qualified massage therapists should have a variety of body work modalities at their disposal. This is why we offer a solid background in Circulatory and Sports massage, Oriental techniques, Human Anatomy, and Deep Tissue Manipulations.
