DAILY'S RESTAURANT REVIEW
By Robert Ross

Daily's restaurant is advertised as a "quick food restaurant that offers an innovative menu design with cutting edge nutritional concepts, fresh and high flavor foods". Translation: the food is delicious, there's some interesting choices on the menu and best of all it's low fat, fresh and high in nutrition. But before I go any further, let me back track a bit. In 1992, a cardiac surgeon named Pat O. Daily saw a need for a fast food type of restaurant that served great tasting, low fat food. The rest is, as they say, history.

The menu at Daily's is divided into: Starters ( small salads, soups, chili) , Salads (Baja pasta salad, Ceasar Salad, Thai Salad), Side dishes (Baked Potato, Rice, etc.), Entrees (Chicken, Cajun Catfish, Pasta of the Day, just to mention a few items), Sandwiches and Desserts. On this visit, I decided on the Free Range Turkey Breast Pocket Sandwich with the Honey Mustard sauce. The sandwich came with a black bean and corn salad. Tasty and healthy! My lunch partner had the Thai Noodle Salad, tossed in a Peanut Citrus dressing. The salad was infused with flavorful spicy ginger. A tasty and filling lunch that won't have you feeling sluggish the rest of the day.

We ate at the Daily's next to the University Town Shopping center in a gourmet shopping area known as The Renaissance Towne Centre.

Orange county will see a Daily's opening soon in Laguna Hills, Tustin and Laguna Niguel.
