HERB THE VEGETARIAN DRAGON
By Jules Bass and Debbie Harter
This book is written by Jules Bass, an animation producer who did the Hobbit, The Last
Unicorn, Rudolph the Red and some others. Hes done feature films, television,
stage plays and recordings. Debbie Harter is the illustrator. She is an artist
and jewelry designer.
The story is about a dragon named Herb. Hes not like the other gang of dragons that eat meat.
One day Herb is captured by the Kings knights. They also capture Meat Hook, the leader of the carnivorous dragons. The king will kill them and all the other dragons unless they stop eating people and become nice, veggie dragons.
Herb and his little human friend, Nicole, finally convince the other dragons, which isnt easy, to live in harmony and peace.
The story shows that even when two kinds of people may hate each other, if they work together for a solution and stop hurting each other they can all live in peace. If they dont, a lot of them are going to end up dead. Herb is about to come out with a new vegetarian cookbook for kids. Look for my review in the next issue. Ill try some of the recipes and tell you how they are!
Published by Barefoot Books, this book is available at your local bookstore.
