TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR HEALTH
By Dr. William R. Kellas, Ph.D.
and Dr. Mark Drucker, M.D.

Did you know that there is a safe, effective alternative to treat and
prevent heart diseases and hardening of the arteries?
Did you know you could improve your circulation and decrease heart
attacks, strokes and angina?

Did you know that arteriosclerosis and heart problems are the #1 killer
in the U.S.?

You need to learn about EDTA - Chelation Therapy, it could save your
life! Clinical experience with EDTA chelation therapy has convinced more than
4,000 licensed physicians in North America that it is a safe and
effective treatment for atherosclerotic vascular disease, as it improves
blood flow and relieves symptoms associated with the disease in greater
than 80% of the patients treated.

It is estimated that physicians nationally have safely treated more than
500,000 patients with this therapy.

Why is chelation done?
Chelation helps to remove metals from the body tissues.  These metals
come from a number of sources including metal dental materials and
mercury amalgam fillings.  Metals can cause free radical damage in the
body, any inflammation or any disease ending in it is, i.e. arthritis
etc., and this damage can lead to:

What is chelation?
Chelation is a term whose root means, "claw" or "to bind".  Most
chelation is done by introducing an intravenous chelation solution into
the veins.  The chelator grabs hold of metal ions, forming a chemical
compound, which can more easily be excreted by the body.  Excretion is
done via urine, feces, and sweat.

How can chelation reduce heart attack risk?
Chelation has been used to help reduce calcium plaquing on the insides
of arteries.  This plaquing narrows the blood vessels, possibly leading
to a heart attack in time if blood flow is sufficiently reduced.
Che-lation's action is believed to be twofold: it directly removes the
excess of calcium from the arteries, and it removes heavy metals such as
mercury which is contained in dental amalgam fillings, cadmium from
cigarette smoking, and lead from gasoline, from the body.

These metals set up conditions conducive to inflammation, which is
buffered by the calcium. Calcium coats the inflamed areas in the blood
vessels like a bandage, patching up one problem but creating another.
Metals can also change the blood pH (acidity) and calcium is taken from
the bones to try to buffer the blood fluids back to their normal pH.
The removal of calcium from the bones can lead to osteoporosis, so
chelation can be beneficial in that area also.

What can you expect after treatment?
As with all therapies, individual progress can vary.  Typically, the
patient may feel a bit tired and weak immediately after the treatment
due to mineral depletion (chelators also grab onto and remove all
minerals).  At the Center for Advanced Medicine in Encinitas, CA where
we conduct hundreds of on-going chelation therapies, we find that by
providing the patient with the appropriate mineral supplementation we
can prevent or alleviate these symptoms.  Often the patient reports
feeling noticeably better as soon as the day of or the day after the
first treatment, and continuing improvement with successive treatments.

Each treatment lasts between 1-1/2 hours to three hours depending on the
type of chelator used and the health problem being treated.  Your
severity determines the number of treatments, your metal-related health
problems taken into consideration. The usual range is 3-20 (EDTA)
treatments, with ten being the average.

The number of treatments can go as high as about 40 in severe cases, but
this is still safer and less costly than heart bypass surgery.
The New England Journal of Medicine and the American Medical Association
Newsletter reported that more than 250,000 people undergo bypass surgery
yearly.  More than 200,000 people who have the surgery do not
necessarily need it. 85% of the bypass surgeries in this country are not
necessary. And Americans spend over $12 billion on by-pass surgery every
year.  Cardiovascular disease kills almost one million Americansannually.
