Interview with Shannon Peck Author of
“Love Heals: How to Heal Everything with Love”
By Kathy Madison

Awareness: Why did you become a spiritual healer?

Shannon: What a wonderful question! I’ve been on a spiritual search all my life, in a quest for the truth to answer the questions “Who are we?” and “What are we doing here?” In my search, I found a deep passion for utilizing healing to help end suffering. That is what turned me towards spiritual healing and my life as a healer. Awareness: What is it like to be a spiritual healer? Shannon: I receive calls for help from around the country each day and have been in this wonderful occupation of spiritual healing for the last 22 years. I feel like a scientist in a laboratory, watching and observing the change that occurs as together, we head right into the divine reality in every situation. How we define ourselves is the core of what determines our state of being — our healing state. Are we really just material beings who are going through a finite number of years on planet Earth and then it’s all over? Or are we from a divine source? All my spiritual healing work is from the basis that we are truly from a divine source and living lives of immense spiritual purpose. That’s where I go when calls come in asking for help.

Awareness: What do you mean that we are from a divine source?

Shannon: Although we can’t see God or divine Love, it is verifiable every time we feel the presence of Love. Each of us is from a divine source based on Love. We are Love’s being-ness and this view changes the course of disease, crises, financial difficulty and trouble of every sort. Whether the healing takes a moment or a very long time, Love’s healing power is totally verifiable. In fact, the last three decades of Mind/Body research have proven that our state of mind alters our bodies and experiences.

Awareness: Your entire book makes the statement that Love heals. What is this love that heals and how does it heal?

Shannon: The love that heals is the divine reality underlying our lives. The life we live every day sometimes approximates divine Love, but most of the time it doesn’t. Going deep into the core of our being through activities such as meditation, prayer, and intuitive listening to the divine is vital to healing. When we become very quiet and still and get in touch with our divine Source, we experience Love. As we commune with Love, we experience Love as a benevolent, caring presence, that is compassionate, wanting, gifting, and blessing generously like a Niagara Falls pouring forth all the time. This healing Love is always available to each one of us, but we must make an effort towards accessing it.

Awareness: The subtitle of your book is “How to Heal Everything with Love.” Do you really believe that Love can heal everything?

Shannon: I really do. I have witnessed such a broad range of problems healed in my own life, as well as for the many people who have called me over the years. I have no preparation for these calls except my access to Love, and that’s where I go. I dive deep into Love and intuit the answers which come forth with healing power that changes physiology in the body from diseased states to healthy states and offers guidance for life direction, life transitions, employment, dealing with difficult relationships, overcoming depression, and every problem imaginable. I’ve really seen Love’s healing power in action across the board. I wrote “Love Heals” to enable others to do this too.

Awareness: As a spiritual healer, what is your attitude towards the medical field?

Shannon: I feel a deep camaraderie with every healer on the planet and I embrace each one. Many physicians and nurses see themselves as healers. It’s amazing how many people feel they are healers even though they are not in the business of healing. A woman came up to me at a conference where I was speaking and told me, “I’m a singer. But I think I am a healer.” I said, “Then you are a healer.” And she said, “But how?” I told her, “When you sing to the people, direct your intention and love towards healing them. Let that go forth and trust that it will bring upliftment, comfort, and awakening as you sing to them.” She got it. Each one of us are healers. It’s just a question of time before we wake up to it. We need more healers.

Awareness: Why do you think we suffer?

Shannon: I think we suffer from lack of enlightenment. We suffer from our ignorance when we fail to love ourselves and others or when we don’t treat people with kindness. Kindness and compassion are very important to success in spiritual healing.

Awareness: Suppose I say, “Okay, I want to become a spiritual healer. What is the most important step I can take?”

Shannon: One of the most important early steps that needs to be taken is to really get in touch with your heart. Get in touch with your caring, compassionate self. Let yourself care. Feel the love you have towards yourself, others, and the world. Pour forth with caring towards every living thing and towards the condition that it is in. Then let Love guide you to respond in a healing way to whatever needs healing. And always remember, Love is the healer.

Awareness: What is the hardest part about being a spiritual healer?

Shannon: You might ask a violin player, “What’s the hardest part about playing your violin?” The most important part is keeping your violin tuned. I think that staying tuned to Love is the greatest discipline that we face and that takes place moment by moment. Awareness: You’ve been a spiritual healer for more than twenty years. What are the most important lessons you have learned from your experience? Shannon: One of the things I have learned is that Love does indeed heal. Love is reliable and available and a powerful source to turn to. Another lesson I have learned is that, when I turn to divine Love for guidance on healing, I actually receive guidance. That verification tells me everything. It means that Love does exist and it is always available with help. And that I am never alone. None of us are ever alone. Actively living a relationship with Love gives us a great deal of insight about who we really are and how we exist. I have learned that when we listen intuitively to the quiet voice of Love within, we can be immediately in touch with the power that heals us. Each of us can do this.

Awareness: Do you think it is possible for anyone to learn how to heal with Love and even become a spiritual healer?

Shannon: Absolutely. The all important first step is to develop an ongoing and intimate relationship with Love itself. Then, I think it is a question of applying what you are learning from Love. Once you become interested in healing, you will learn to respond to the love within you. Love’s healing ability is within each one of us since each of us is derived from Love. We suffer because we have forgotten this or our spiritual senses may have become dulled. As we come back into the awakening and knowing of Love, we remember who we are. We re-establish the joy of our interactive relationship with Love. Love opens up our lives to everything good and to all blessings, power, reality, enlightenment, and healing. Being a healer is our deepest and most natural state of being.

Awareness: The world is in such turmoil. Is this perpetual or is there healing in the wings?

Shannon: Overall, I think the world is in better shape than it has ever been before. We have more human rights and humane treatment lived globally, more oneness coming into view, and more deep interest and commitment to world peace. With the increase of danger, we see more alliances towards Spirit to save us. In response to the acceleration of violence that prevails today, the answer is not necessarily more soldiers or weapons. In the movie, “The Matrix Reloaded,” one of the characters said, “I believe that our survival depends upon more than how many ships we have.” I love that! Our ultimate survival depends on our awakening. Our most powerful weapon is our spirituality lived in alignment with Love. This is the only thing that can really keep us safe.

Awareness: Any last thought you’d like to share with our readers?

Shannon: Yes. No matter what you are going through, how impossible it may seem, how many tears it has brought, or how much you have suffered or been afraid, I want to assure you that Love is with you and caring for you. As you turn deeply to Love for answers and guidance, you will receive the answers and guidance you most need. And you will find your way out of suffering  This is Love’s plan for you. Love is with you even now. It is my deepest desire that you feel and experience Love’s healing power. Endorsements for “Love Heals”:
