NEVER OLD
Tips on Keeping Mind and Body Young
By Jesse Anson Dawn
Jesse Anson Dawn (at age 61), author of the national award-winning book,
Never “Old,” plus The Rejuvenator’s Bible, speaks out about a most stirring
subject: how to counteract unwanted effects of “aging.”
Presently answering the question: “What is the most powerful mental force
that one can use to counteract the effects of so-called “normal aging?”
Dear Readers,
Using the mind to counteract the aging process is not about what has come to be
called “modern medicine”. Instead it involves something that has been part of
human endeavor for millenniums of time, something that can be understood as
“creative energy”. But creative energy is not only about artistic pursuits, it
also involves the use of mind-power as a way to connect and relate to the
creative energy of the universe.
One of the original teachers of the truly powerful healing effects of creative
energy was the Chinese man known as Confucius. About creative energy, Confucius
was quoted as saying:
“A movement that never stops nor slackens, just as one day follows the other in
an unending course, is the image of the power inherent in the Creative... with
this enduring image as a goal, the creative practitioner learns to develop one’s
inner influence as consistent, thus becoming strong in every way, strong and
tireless by consciously eliminating one’s intake of all that is degrading...”
Upon reading this timeless piece of wisdom, something that comes to mind as
strongly working against it is the modern push to believe in a myriad of pills
and chemicals to help us “de-age”.
Yes, of course how we “feel” has a lot to do with “aging”, but I maintain my
strong resistance against pharmaceuticals as a way toward “feeling well” or
maintaining any form of creativity. Although I do realize that much of the
pill-fix game is based on trying to find handy ways to overcome what I call
“fuddy-duddism” (“fuddy-duddy” being defined in dictionaries as one who is
“fussy, overly critical” and “too concerned with trifles”). And so various
methods to counteract fuddy-duddism arise, laboratory “fixes” plus naturally
herbal and self-empowered ways to feel happier, more creative and maybe even
healthier. And (God forbid!) maybe even certain books can help, especially a
book both enjoyable and most important of all — effective.
But sadly, most of the western society has become “too busy” for books or looks
inside themselves (those hoping to “save face” without having to think about
it).
Thus erupts a “modern” push toward being ineffectively buried in a furious
flurry of pharmacy “facials”. Whoooweee!” says TV! — don’t be a miser, buy
geysers of moisturizers!” — “Come on ya’ll, wrinkles will get small with ERASE
ALL!” — “Hurry up and ask your Doc to get you outside the box with BOTOX!”
But in truth there is no axing away aging with “exfoliates” — no cascading it away with chemical peels, no slashing it off with stinging sandings, no injecting it into oblivion, or carving it into a cave where it hides. For the fact remains that aging is a process that is only truly effected from the INSIDE OUT. And by “inside” I mean by way of THE Control Tower of it all which (as we can see by reading my books) is controlled primarily by the MIND.
Hence nothing else rejuvenates like mindpower. And nothing harnesses mindpower better than FOCUSED ENERGY.
But truly effective focused energy is not a simple, quick-fix thing, which is
why I have spent decades researching and practicing its use. This is why,
although I have been writing this Never “Old” column for more than ten years, I
have yet to feel it is anywhere near “said and done”.... for there looms a
universe of mysteries involved with the effectiveness of what Confucius
correctly called “The Creative...”
