Letter from the Publisher . . .

Here's the one you've all been waiting for . . . our special "Angel" issue, with another glorious cover from Laguna Beach artist, Marty Scott Gray!

We were working hard on this issue and very close to deadline when the tragic news came of the loss of entertainer, environmentalist, and good Œol country boy, John Denver, one of my all-time favorites. John is now flying high with the eagles, which is one of the things he enjoyed most in life, and has joined Jacques Cousteau, Princess Diana and Mother Teresa, all of whom earned their wings in the past few months. They will all be greatly missed. We will feature John and Jacques in our March/April 1998 "Earth Day" issue.

For those of you who have been following the story of Keiko, the orca whale moved from Mexico City to Newport, Oregon in January of 1996, he is doing fine, in spite of any news you may have heard or read to the contrary. It seems that egos and the almighty dollar have begun to interfere with advanced training in an effort to release Keiko back to his home in Iceland. For more information, please see page "Keiko Update." We will continue to follow his progress, and keep you informed.

As we come to the end of our fifth year of publishing Awareness, we would like to thank all of our readers, our writers and artists, and our advertisers for your contributions and support. Without all of your efforts, we would not be able to increase Awareness around the planet.

We will begin our sixth year with a Women's Issue, and a contest for "Random Acts of Kindness" articles. See magazine for more information. This should be kind of fun and something different!

We all wish you and your family a safe and happy holiday season, filled with joy, love and peace!

Remember . . . it all begins with
                                                    Awareness . . . magazine!
