How to Have A Healthy and Enjoyable Holiday Season
By Dr. Juliet Tien (Dr. J), D.N., Sc.
• Does the hustle bustle of the holiday season stress you out?
• Do you catch the flu or a cold easily during the holiday season?
• Would you like to have a healthy and enjoyable holiday season?
If so, read on!
Many people get physically sick or emotionally distressed during the
holiday season. The following are some common reasons why:
Physical and Mental Overload
During the holiday season, you might take on more of a workload or
more activities (such as shopping) than usual in order to prepare
for holiday gatherings and celebrations. This puts your body, mind
and spirit into “overwork mode”. An overworked machine needs “down
time”; so does your body!
Overgrowth of Yeast
and Parasites
The availability of junk food during the holiday season represents a
test of your willpower. If you yield to temptation and deviate from
your healthy eating habits, the little enemies (yeasts and
parasites) in your body will be well fed by their favorite foods
(including sugar, dairy, wheat, yeast, alcohol, caffeine, nicotine
and chemicals). They then have a rock ‘n roll party. After they have
a good time, they deposit their eliminations (toxins) in your body.
This is the major reason you get sick easily during the holiday
season.
Unfinished Business
Old life events might replay like old tapes in your head if you have
not worked through certain emotional issues from your past. When you
live in an unpleasant past, your feelings of love, joy, and
gratitude are blocked. Regardless of the current life situation you
are in, you cannot appreciate and enjoy the “here and now”. You feel
depressed because you live in the past.
Can you combat the holiday blues and have a healthy and enjoyable
holiday season? Yes! You can. Here are some recommendations for you:
1) Treat every day like a holiday!
Get together with your friends or relatives on a regular basis, so
there is no need to cram a lot of gatherings into the holiday
season. A holiday is merely one of 365 days in a year. If you don’t
make it “special”, there won’t be special meanings attached to it!
2) Create your own gift-giving schedule.
There is no rule dictating you can only give your presents on
certain days of the year. Create your own schedule for holiday gift
giving. Tell the recipient of your gift, “Here is my Christmas gift
for you. I am giving you the gift early (or late) this year to avoid
the holiday frenzy. I hope it’s okay with you.” Most likely your
thoughtfulness will be appreciated!
3) Maintain a good daily routine
Keep a good daily routine of rising, exercising, sleeping, resting
and eating. Avoid changing your schedule drastically to get into the
holiday frenzy. Your metabolism is at its optimal level when your
body follows a harmonious biological rhythm!
4) Follow an Anti-Yeast
Nutritional Program
Prevent adding toxins to your body during the holiday season! Avoid
feeding your little enemies, yeasts and parasites, their favorite
foods. If you would like to know what you can or cannot eat, read my
books, Breaking the Yeast Curse: Food and Unconditional Love for
Magic Healing, and Healthy and Tasty: Dr. J’s Anti-Yeast Cooking.
Both books are available in Southern California public libraries.
5) Remove physical toxins
If your body is already infested, you need to consider using potent
herbal formulas designed to remove excess yeasts and parasites
simultaneously. Yeasts and parasites are like Siamese Twins. They go
hand in hand. Therefore, you must remove both of them from your body
simultaneously in order to give your body a chance to heal!
6) Meditate daily
Meditation removes the clutter in your mind, and enables you to
become a creative problem solver. You will enjoy increased mental
clarity and creativity. If you don’t know how to meditate, read my
book, Breaking the Yeast Curse: Food and Unconditional Love for
Magic Healing. There is a chapter devoted to ten-minute meditation,
which is particularly helpful during the holiday season if you don’t
have time to sit still for more than ten minutes!
7) Remove mental toxins
If the holidays remind you of unpleasant life experiences in your
past, and cause depression, it’s time to clean house! Consult with
an experienced therapist who specializes in spiritual psychotherapy.
Emotional traumas resulting from life events that occurred in the
past of this life, or in previous lives, can be released or
reprogrammed. Therefore, you can continue your life with a clean
slate.
Life is merely a series of tests. Allow yourself to “graduate” from each level of “schooling” that you encounter. Look at the silver lining of each cloud, and ask yourself, “What can I learn from this experience?” As you have heard before, “God never gives you more than you can handle!”
When you feel alone, frustrated, tired, or depressed, just drop on your knees and pray for solutions. Always P. U. S. H. — Pray Until Something Happens. Whether you believe in God or not, it does not matter! It’s free of charge. What have you got to lose?
