FENG SHUI CONCEPTS
Feng Shui Clearing
and Blessing Ceremonies

About six years ago, my father and I were asked to do a blessing
ceremony for a very large development company who owned a high-rise
luxury apartment complex on the coast of Long Beach. Feng shui was
to be incorporated into the building for several reasons.
Apparently, the building was sold because it was not doing very well
in sales so the new developers wanted to make sure this old energy
was released.
Since the building already existed, they could not do much to adjust its feng shui, especially since it was a complex of many apartments owned by individuals. They did, however, incorporate feng shui in the remodeling and model apartments. Also, since they had many Asian buyers, they felt it was important for them to find a way to connect with this market.
Birth charts of the owners were calculated and an auspicious date was selected. An elaborate feast of offerings was prepared for the blessing ceremony. My father and I meditated early that morning to empower ourselves with mantra charms, holy water and rice. At the blessing ceremony, we asked upon the energies of the Gods of the Earth and Heavens to come and bless the properties and take in gratitude the offerings presented.
In this particular case, the ceremony was quite extensive, as we walked through the entire complex, all the floors and in front of each apartment door to chant mantras of releasing negative energies and blessing each unit with the empowered holy water and rice to bring them prosperity and health.
Home Sweet Home
Marla called me to schedule an appointment to see a house she
recently bought. She and her family fell in love with the house and
wanted to make sure they started off everything right by applying
feng shui. The house was modest in size, but completely renovated
and looked almost new. Given the prices in real estate these days,
they didn’t have much choice and given most houses needed work, this
house with its move-in condition appealed to them. It was either
this or a condo. With a baby on the way, they really shouldn’t and
couldn’t do any renovations and they also preferred a home with a
yard.
Marla and her husband, Randy, are eastern direction pattern people. Their two children are western direction pattern. The house had all the rooms and doors in the compatible directions that would accommodate them.
Randy was concerned that the main door had a tree in front of it. I explained that it was one of the factors, but given the other favorable factors, it would have a minimal effect. Also, because the side door off the driveway was facing south and was compatible to them. This south door would be their main entrance and not the front door, which faces west.
Their minimal use of the west door would have a small influence on them, but a convex mirror over the door could be used to deflect the tree’s energy. Other recommendations were made to adjust the feng shui of the house promoting Randy and Marla.
With a newborn on the way, and starting a new business, Marla and Randy were concerned about any negative energy that may be in the house from previous owners. They asked if a clearing ceremony could be done to release negative energies and empower it with positive energies which would bring them wealth, good health and happiness.
An auspicious date was calculated based on Marla and Randy’s birth
charts. Having a blessing ceremony and move-in date on an auspicious
date is another way to enhance the feng shui of a building as it
allows movement to be done under favorable cosmic energies. This is
like planting seeds at the right season to ensure a good harvest.
