New Feng Shui Concepts
Karmic Relationships and Feng Shui
By Jenny T. Liu

Everything is connected. And everything happens for a reason. For every cause, there is an effect. There is a reason for every person you know and have a relationship with in this lifetime.

Parents ó Ever wonder why your parents are who they are?

Some parents have a very strong connection with their children or a specific child, and play a large role in their life. For instance, I know through hypnosis that my current father was also my father in my previous life. In one of my regressions, I remember being a surgeon and had to perform a crucial surgery on my father which brought him back to life. In this life, my father has in many ways, given me life. I know there is a deep connection with him as we continue our work in this lifetime. There are things he tells me and teaches me, and as a child I would pick up on things almost immediately, like recalling a memory.

Parents hold a deep bond with their children and will be providers for them, a duty owed to their children. Sometimes, it is a karma debt of service, love or devotion. Sometimes, it is only a karma debt of money. In these cases, the parent makes money for their children, supports them, but does not necessarily have an intimate relationship with their children. There are also parents who have nothing in common with their children or do not even know them at all. There are parents who create children only to leave them. Very likely, in a previous life, the reverse roles were true, or simply, they do not hold a karmic bond to their child.

Then there are other times when the parent is not biological, such as adopted children, children whose grandparents raise them, or when another relative acts as a parent. This is usually a strong karma bond or debt between the children and the person who takes responsibility because there is no other choice, or the karmic love between them is stronger than it is with the biological parent.

Spouses ó Why do we fall in love with certain people?

People say that love is blind. Some couples feel they were destined to be together. Some search their whole life for their soul-mate. We cannot always see fully or control who we fall in love with, and oftentimes, over time, the love relationship will change and we may wonder why we fell in love in the first place. This is a very common phenomenon.

Love relationships most definitely stem from previous lifetimes. When it is from a last or recent past life, we may feel an intense love and familiarity, comfort, or burning desire for this person. This is particularly true if we are in great karma debt to this person. Karma debt is not always a negative thing. It is simply an imbalance that needs to be balanced. This balance can be returned within in one lifetime, sometimes it takes more.

Some people fall in love at first sight, have passionate love, and a year later they get bored. Things change as their karma debt has returned to balance or someone else with a stronger karma enters and pulls one person away. The other person may feel betrayed or relieved.

Understanding relationships this way allows us to see them from a different perspective. It allows us to see that change is constant and that resisting change can make for unnecessary struggle or misery. In many cases where there is no turning back, understanding our karmic relationships allows for detachment, allows us to change, to move on, and to know that a relationship coming to an end is not something that is necessarily bad, or to feel guilty or ashamed about. In many ways, if we can see a balance taking place, meaning we can now start fresh and move on to better things, we would be able to recuperate from our heartache or sense of loss more easily.
