THE SOULMATE KIT
How to Prepare To Manifest and Meet Your Soulmate
By Arielle Ford
Whether you are 28 or 88, it is never too late to find your soulmate. Finding true love is possible at any age, if you are willing to prepare yourself to become a magnet for love. If you don’t believe you will find a mate, you probably won’t!

The author has created a process she calls “feelingizations” which she likens to visualizations but finds that by going one step further, you encompass every single cell in your being to bring about the outcome you wish to create. She cautions us to stop listening to our shortcomings and fears, but to instead believe in a positive outcome. She shares with us her set of acquired skills by providing projects, prayers, exercises and illustrations, in a multimedia format.

First, the Soulmate Kit instruction book gives us a foundation, including preparation of the mind, body and soul, a way of releasing our past baggage as well as tuning in and narrowing down the type of mate we are looking for. At the end of this manual is a list of authors and resources that will reinforce and help you on your journey.

The Owner’s Manual begins with a statistical analysis of who you are: your birth date, height, weight and eye color, as well as information on your family, pets, friends, and feeding requirements. The next section delves more deeply into what makes you who you are, your social views and attitudes, things you prefer or dislike, your career, romance and celebrations. This is basically an in-depth, itemized perspective of all the details — in one place.

The kit includes an instruction book, two “owner’s manuals,” one for you and one for your mate, three CDs and one DVD.

BEYOND THE SECRET
Spiritual Power and the Law of Attraction
By Dr. Lisa Love
This is a sequel to the book, “The Secret,” published in 2006 in which the law of attraction was introduced and you learned how to use it in order to get whatever you want in life. There were various concerns, such as the causation of greed and materialism as well as a trivialization of health issues. This book embraces those concerns and attempts to show how the law of attraction can be used along more spiritual lines.

The author, a therapist specializing in sexual and physical abuse, holds a degree in marriage, family and child counseling. She believes you can use the law of attraction to get everything you want, but asks the question, “Should you?” Dr. Love wants us to understand the differences between a spiritual and selfish wish and encourages us to grow outside of greed and wealth toward a more spiritually justifiable existence.

Without a clear understanding of some basic spiritual principles, the author believes we can take on some serious trouble in our lives. By negating the ego and engaging the soul, taking the time to align ourselves, feel and listen, then order our thoughts in the best way possible, we can orient and align ourselves, tap into our feelings and execute spiritual growth in order to gain our own true destiny.

HAPPY FOR NO REASON
7 Steps to Being Happy from the Inside Out
By Marci Shimoff with Carol Kline
Happiness is not about having everything you’ve ever dreamed of, nor is it simply negating the need for material pleasures in life. It goes much deeper than that. Happiness does not depend on external circumstances.

A best-selling author and teacher, Shimoff believes that everyone, everywhere, wants to be happy. This book will show you how to follow a holistic seven-step program that won’t require you to have “happy genes” or win the lottery to be happier. You will learn to experience an authentic state of happiness for the rest of your life.

Starting with a foundation of how to take control of your happiness, the book is divided into parts that explore the paradigm of happiness and “pillars” of mind, heart, body and soul, as well as the discussion of three main guiding principals that will help you get past the common blocks to your success.

Offered here is a step-by-step approach, along with illustrations and examples from what she calls her “Happy 100” — one hundred people who are unconditionally happy, clearly defining what it means to be happy, with no reason.

The final section shows you how to be permanently happy with suggestions and tips on how to practice
happiness, and includes a wealth of resources to help you in this quest.

SPOT OF GRACE
Remarkable Stories of How You Do Make a Difference
By Dawna Markova, PhD
Everyone is born with a seed of light inside them that gives their lives meaning. Each light represents a spot of grace and can be the greatest gift, for others, and ourselves, if we can learn to recognize and nurture it. We are meant to grow the light and shine it into the darkness of the world, helping others find their light.

The author, an inspirational speaker, writer and long-term cancer survivor, helps people to learn with passion and live with purpose. She sent out an e-mail inquiry to over 2,500 people asking them to share an experience that helped them to realize something unique about themselves. She also asked them to share a story about someone whose spot of grace they recognized and encouraged.

The result of her request shows extraordinary connections can be made from ordinary gestures. These connections create a profound difference in our lives as well as in others.

Example — a guidance counselor tells a depressed high school student that he noticed the student had incredible gifts and talents. The counselor went on to say that the student could be anything he wanted to be in the world, as long as he used his gifts. This single affirmation allowed the student, decades later, to enjoy his goodness and wholeness. This is only one of the many small acts of kindness that reached across isolation with an open heart.

TRANSFORMING FATE INTO DESTINY
A New Dialogue With Your Soul
By Robert Ohotto
Essential instruments for uncovering our personal destiny include acceptance and authentic choice, surrender, prayer and an understanding of the law of attraction. In order to make full use of these instruments, we must first understand the difference between the voice of fate and the voice of destiny.

The foreword by
Caroline Myss
states that, for the most part, even thinking about the differences between the governing forces of fate and destiny resembles text in ancient Greek mythology. The most important question a person can ask is, “For what reason have I been born?”

Ohotto is an intuitive consultant and practicing astrologer and lecturer. He calls his unique perspectives and philosophical insights a zone of unlimited possibility and discusses the anatomy of the psyche. While our fate brings us everything we may need to fulfill our purpose here on earth, what we do with that fate, through our powers of choice, is what determines our destiny.

The author labels this a process of definition, as both light and shadow. Our experiences, good and bad, have been scripted into our lives in order for our souls to grow. We must first accept these changes, before we can even attempt any change. He shows us how to master this dance of opposites to become truly conscious and comfortable with ourselves.

I’M RIGHT, YOU’RE WRONG, NOW WHAT?
Break the Impasse and Get What You Need
By Xavier Amador, Ph.D.
As the title suggests, the book is about satisfactory conflict resolution and breaking the barriers that exasperate us in the process. Dr. Amador has a revolutionary technique called LEAP which he has refined over the last decade to overcome obstacles in getting what you want.

LEAP stands for Listen reflectively, Empathize, Agree on the goals both sides have, Partner on achieving those goals. He also provides seven “healthy relationship rules” that he says will guarantee success. Dr. Amador’s approach is based on science while also accounting for ego and emotion. LEAP is proven useful in any situation, and examples are applied in various scenarios in the book.

It was encouraging to see that LEAP does work when applied to those uncomfortable situations where each person is “right” and firmly stuck in non-resolution, until the LEAP principals are applied. Loaded with tools, this book could be a handbook for ensuring peace and fulfillment in all relationships.

THE FLIGHT FROM INTIMACY
By Janae B. Weinhold, PhD & Barry K. Weinhold, PhD
Although much attention has been given to the condition of co-dependency, most adults actually have relationship problems directly caused by counter-dependent behaviors, or a combination of the two, according to psychologists and authors, Janae and Barry Weinhold.

In this groundbreaking book, they describe why so many relationships fail, how counter-dependency is a major barrier to creating desirable relationships, and how childhood traumas play out in current relationships.

This book identifies the behaviors and sources of counter-dependency, and offers methods to heal the unmet developmental needs that cause counter-dependency in relationships. For example, they describe a person with counter-dependent behaviors as appearing confident and successful on the outside, but on the inside feeling insecure, needy and often struggling in personal relationships.

This book is the result of more than twenty-three years of intensive research on the issue of counter-dependency. Sharing their own personal experiences, the authors leave no stone unturned in exploring the flip side of co-dependency.

The Foreword in The Flight from Intimacy was written by John Bradshaw, who states that this book fills a gap in our understanding of co-dependency. The Weinholds co-founded the Carolina Institute for Conflict Resolution and Creative Leadership near
Asheville, NC. Their website is: www.weinholds.org.
