NEVER OLD
Tips on Keeping Mind and Body Young
By Jesse Anson Dawn
Jesse Anson Dawn, author of the national award-winning book, Never “Old”, plus
The Rejuvenator’s Bible, speaks out about a most stirring subject: how to
counteract the unwanted effects of “aging.”
Presently answering the question: “What tips can you offer about the use of
hormone replacement therapy?”
Dear Readers,
The use of synthetic hormones as a rejuvenation factor continues to be a very
controversial subject. As is now well known, many studies reveal the significant
dangers connected with the common use of estrogen made from a pregnant mare’s
urine. Hence the name of the most popular pill in the mare’s urine genre —
Prem-arin.
Although recent studies show that it’s apparently much safer to use
“bioidentical” hormones (those made from hormone precursors found in soybeans or
yams), the more synthetic, horse urine variety continues to be one of the most
prescribed drugs in America. But despite their common use by millions of women
worldwide, research about Prem-arin-type pills indicate they cause so much
breast cancer that a study published in the prestigious New England Journal of
Medicine says these pills increase the likelihood of breast cancer by some 30 to
40 percent.
Other reports about Premarin, as in a study published in the June, 1999, Life
Extension magazine, cites two major studies involving thousands of women, a
study finding that use of these pills significantly increases the occurrence of
heart attacks in postmenopausal women.
How Profit Rules the Natural vs. Unnatural Hormone Debate
Although “bioidentical” (soybean or yam-derived) hormones can be made to be more
like human hormones than the horse urine kind, thus apparently safer for the
human body, bioidentical hormones cannot be patented. This is because the
Premarin-type synthetic hormone is made by altering the molecular structure of a
hormone enough to make it able to be patented. Consequently, as is so often the
case in modern “industrial medicine,” the safety factor of the bioidentical
hormone gets overwhelmed by the profit factor of the well-hyped and hugely
financed chemo-synthetic drug.
Indeed, the “same-old/same-old,” programmed predicament happens with the
“standard” use of chemotherapy, whereby the toxicity factor gets covered- up and
ignored by the well-financed and long-standing “acceptance” factor.
Menopause, Hormones
and the Mind
Going beyond the “natural vs. unnatural” hormone debate, it’s important to know
that estrogen levels are highly dependent on frame of mind. For just as my books
clarify, all sex hormones are produced by your master gland —the pituitary — and
from there they are activated by the electrical power of thought waves. Hence
there’s a host of safe and effective mindpower and dietary ways to balance
hormones for rejuvenation purposes without increasing the risk of cancer, heart
attacks and the various afflictions caused by hormonal excess.
The most helpfully positive studies I’ve encountered about menopausal hormone
changes and the mind, are those which reveal how menopause frees up a woman to
be more creative and community conscious. Perhaps even creatively conscious
enough to be an activist directing her energies toward important issues such as
peace vs. war, or vital protection of the environment.
According to Dr. Christine Northrup, author of the widely-selling (2001) book,
The Wisdom of Menopause, “Many of the issues that had become blurry to her when
the hormones of puberty kicked in may suddenly resurface with vivid clarity as
those hormones recede … the concern with social injustices, the political
interests, and the personal passions that were sublimated in the childbearing
years now surface in sharp focus, ready to be examined and acted upon. Some
women funnel this heightened energy into new businesses and new careers. Some
discover and cultivate artistic talents they never knew they had.”
Yes indeed, not “hot flashes” but creative power surges is what I call these
menopausal jolts, and more power to them — especially if that energy is aimed
towards helping rejuvenate (self-heal) America from the demonic forces of the
current war machine and its errant path of environmental destruction.
Yes, save America and the WHOLE planet from “George the Scourge” and
“Halliburton’s Hood” Cheney — bring on the wisely concerned, politically
powerful women — bring them on to organize, vote and chase the shameless
swindlers out!
