By Revs. Sandy and Kirk Moore
Revs. Sandy and Kirk Moore are the co-founders of the Center for Universal
Truth in San Juan Capistrano. They established this New Thought spiritual
community to bring individuals of various religious and spiritual faiths
together so their lives could be empowered by applying practical principals.
This column has been developed to allow people the opportunity to seek
additional answers about spiritual insights. If you would like to ask them a
question, please send it to the Center for Universal Truth,

Q: What are the founding principles of your teachings?
Janice
Lake Forest, CA
A: Our teachings are a philosophy based on the spiritual principles (or laws) of
the universe that were developed by
Ernest Holmes. He integrated the teachings of several great spiritual
leaders such as Jesus,
Buddha, Gandhi and many other ancient wisdoms. God is all there is and we
are each a Divine, unique expression of God. God is love and we are each here to
express that love. There is a power for good in the universe and it is ours to
behold. The power of our conscious and unconscious mind is a tool we use to
create the life we desire. There is much, much more that is part of this
philosophy, but his gives a general understanding of the teachings.
Q: How do you view the Bible and is it something you use in your Sunday
Service?
Marcus
Irvine, CA
A: We view the Bible as a great teaching tool through its stories and
references, and understanding the life of Jesus and what his message was all
about. Yes, we do refer to the Bible (along with many other texts) as a source
for gaining a greater understanding through the lessons and challenges and
situations described in great detail.
The Bible gives us an opportunity to embrace a deeper perspective of
religious and spiritual principles.
