NEVER OLD
Tips on Keeping Mind and Body Young
By Jesse Anson Dawn
Jesse Anson Dawn (at age 61), author of the national award-winning book,
Never “Old,” plus The Rejuvenator’s Bible, speaks out about a most stirring
subject: how to counteract the unwanted effects of “aging.”
Presently answering the question: “How does sexual activity affect the aging
process?
Dear Readers,
Can it be that the he-she-it we call “God” is a positive, uplifting soul who
does not want us to suffer, a God who wants us to feel GOOD? Or as a famous
verse from the Indian Vedas puts it: “In bliss we are conceived, in bliss we
live, to bliss we will return.”
And I believe it, believe we are really living when blissful, just as long as
kindly human emotions prevail (and let us not forget birth control and
conservation of natural resources) — all of which converges to validate the
blissful scheme.
Again I emphasize that being a “sex object” is certainly much more blissfully
human than being a money object.
Aging and the
Sexual Revolution
Yes, admittedly, like so many of us, I’m another one who’s been influenced by
the sexual revolution of the 1960s, that upheaval which tried to redirect our
warped sex-and-violence-are-one-love programming to the higher ideal of “make
love not war.”
And admittedly I still carry traces of that idealism into my “senior” years, still convinced that despite one’s “age,” it is healthier (and surely more rejuvenating) to release sexual passions in a natural way instead of having those lusts reprogrammed into self-destructive acts of gluttony, or perhaps a passionless, chronic negativity that is bringing about what I call a Sexually Paralyzed world.
In other words, any stiff, geriatric push toward turning innate passions into merely a lust for money, manipulation and militarism ultimately turns people toward getting old fast, for when natural passions are replaced by unnatural ones, it’s mainly violence and/or illness that results...
Amid a lighter note, habitual lack of passion reminds me of a joke: While being questioned as a witness in court, a woman was asked if she is “sexually active?” And her reply was simple: “No. I just lie there...” Huh?
Men and Women Are NOT from Different Planets
I say HOOEY to the popular notion that “men are from Mars and women are from
Venus,” or any other slogans that stereotype men’s and women’s needs, because
our needs are basically the same. And also very much the same is our need to
interact with each other without being divided by the distorted idea that
genders are split by one side being more “warlike” or “sensitive” or “sexual” or
“emotional.”
Indeed, if there’s one thing we don’t need, it is more boxed-in excuses to stifle our ability to freely communicate, yet more excuses to divide the sexes into opposing groups.
Talk about sexual divisions, recently I didn’t know whether to laugh or gag at a beer commercial which burped: “Did you know that the three most important words are now — hey beer man?” Thus it’s no wonder rapes are on the rise, for how can anyone meet and get intimate with a woman once he’s reduced to a vocabulary more simplistic than a toad?
Interaction vs. Dehumanization
The above heading brings me to ask you a question: Have you ever sat in a
meeting hall, airport or auditorium and wondered why no one is looking at each
other? I wonder this every time I’m in a crowd. Has it really come down to a
time when people are more and more afraid to even briefly face each other
eye-to-eye? The reasons for this are quite complicated and deeply connected to
our warlike and violent “culture” — a so-called “culture” in dire need of
fixing.
All of which brings to mind the premise that to perpetually rejuvenate, first of all we need to reconnect to the natural voices of our body on a regular basis, thereby avoiding the consequences of a mind-body split — a split that causes us to fall apart fast.
As again I say the doctor is IN — INSIDE ALL of us.
In other words, don’t be like the cartoon of the surgeon standing behind a patient while holding his hands over the “patients” eyes, and then claiming:
“I believe your blindness is only temporary, and I have the operation to fix it.”
No dear reader, don’t fall for that old scam, but instead rise above the trickery of whatever blinds us from the real truth, and thereby free your mind to be educated enough to HEAL YOURSELF.....
