Tips on Keeping Mind and Body Young
Jesse Anson Dawn, age 54, author of the national award-winning book, Never "Old", speaks out about a most stirring subject: how and why we age.

Presently answering the question: Dear "Youthman" Dawn: "Why is it that so-called 'anti-aging' drugs so often get reported about in the 'news', but rarely do anti-aging psychologies?"

Dear Reader, "SHOW me the money," was the shameless slogan that I recently saw blazoned across the front of a T-shirt, and that's just what pharmacology has come to stand for, and how it's become the world's most promoted and profitable business. Especially since the U.S. is the only large country which doesn't regulate drug prices, thus permitting pharmaceuticals to get away with a higher inflation rate than any other product.

But the truth is, in two decades of studying the field, I've yet to see one so-called pharmaceutical "breakthrough" actually pan out as newsworthy. Typical was the November, 1996 Time Magazine cover story titled "How Science is Searching for Ways to Keep Us FOREVER YOUNG" ‹ an article filled with the same DNA-tweaking doubletalk that's been around for decades. This continuous rehash of the same old chemical pipedreams, this endless garbly-goo of what I call "ad-news", is due to decades of chemo-mania which has come up with very little real healing value since the discovery of penicillin over a half century ago.

Even most biology textbooks say almost exactly what was said decades ago, and why not, for biologists use basically the same information now as they did at mid-century. The only advances that I've found making a real difference in how we age are either psychological, naturally dietary, or triggered by the so-called "pseudo science" of self-massage ‹ three approaches which are well covered in my books - factors that are at the core of the system which I call CE (creationary energy) Mindpower.

Therefore, only interested in true results and not hype-induced pharmaceutical posturing, I rely solely on what I've seen truly works for me and others. As I again emphasize that we effectuate the working side of the Rejuvenation Revolution by taking things step by step - taking things from their cellular level and moving forward. Hence we have clarified theories about "cells" and how cells supposedly "age" - and we have gone on to realize why cells tested in laboratory glassware are not fully "living" but only a semblance of life (like the accumulation of lifeless electronic dots that TV ads like to tout as "living color"). And so now let's take our step-by-step redefining a bit further by emphasizing

Sadly, even the name/perception conjured up for these life-buds of energy inside of us - "cells" ‹ lacks an energy-conscious principle, for the word "cells" calls to mind tiny, cramped jail cells where depressed, unhealthy people count off the days until they either die or get released. But living tissue "cells" are life-giving emanators of harmonious perception, and because words and names are inextricably linked to comprehension, I will hereby change our name/perception of "cells" to the more appropriately energetic name of life-buds. Yes, life-buds makes much more sense to me, and so be it as understood between us. And now let us mental floss ourselves yet further by

Another coined name needing rejuvenation (clarification) is the "scientific" term for the beginning of life, that which is crudely referred to as the "Big Bang" theory. Obviously it was named this because certain people chose to sum up the commencement of life in the universe as merely some sort of violent, "big bang" explosion. Yes, I realize that we're all supposed to be pantingly wowed by anything that goes BLAM! or BANG! like firecrackers on New Year's Eve, but ENOUGH of such trivializing, litter-level nonsense I say, especially when it comes to our perception of creation. Therefore I hereby change the name "Big Bang" theory to the Creationary Energy theory instead, because ALL of life begins with energy, and as the First Law of Thermodynamics says, all energy comes from someone or something creating it. Yes, someone or something creatively artistic enough to spawn the beautifully complicated ecology of a rainforest, or a lush, eden-like island and the myriad of life forms which form its eco-systems ‹ none of which appears like it was shot from a brainlessly big-banging cannon. But in truth it all begins and EVOLVES with a consciously interconnected energy. As does self-renewal.

One basic reason why it's good to rethink our name/perception of things is because knowledge affects us even on a cellular level, which is why I study rejuvenation so deeply. And so until my next column when we'll go deeper into this - happy rejuvenating!
