Are You Eating Yourself to Death?
Fat adds up to cause cancer!

A large-scale study by the American Cancer Society involving 900,000 subjects followed for 16 years, reveals the following chilling results: one of every five cancer deaths in women and one of seven in men are due to excess pounds!  The heaviest women had cancer death rates 62 percent higher and overweight men had rates 52 percent higher than those of normal weight! This means that 20 percent of cancer deaths in women and 14 percent in men could be associated with excess weight, according to the study published recently in the New England Journal of Medicine. In other words, more than 90,000 deaths per year from cancer might be avoided if people could maintain normal weight!

Scary! Isn’t it? Being overweight is not just an appearance and self-esteem issue; it can be a life-and-death issue! Unfortunately, 30 percent of American adults are obese, and more than half are overweight by federal health standards! An increasing number of children are also following the path!

The causes of being overweight are usually very complex. Unfortunately, most overweight Americans tend to seek a “quick fix” by relying on appetite-suppressing drugs, starvation diets, stomach staples, liposuction, and jaw wiring.  The list goes on. Causes of Overweight Problems
Poor Eating Habits:
An average American eats 120 pounds of sugar per year. From birth to age 70, on the average, an American eats eight cows, nine pigs and 15,000 eggs. A well-balanced diet should contain less than 20% fat, less than 20% protein and more than 40% complex carbohydrates. The excess intake of fat, protein and sugar can turn into an over-storage of fat. Americans also tend to overeat or not to eat at regular hours. Some skip breakfast and others have big meals RIGHT before bedtime. Irregular hours and portions can confuse your biological clock and jeopardize your metabolic function.

Yeast and Parasitic Infections:
Yeast and parasitic infections are misdiagnosed and improperly treated by most medical professionals. In addition to all the symptoms that are exhibited from head to toe, a persistent overweight condition can be an indication that your metabolic function is being jeopardized by stubborn yeast and parasitic infections. Yeast and parasites can creep into any part of your body, especially those sites which are weak to begin with. For instance, if your thyroid gland is weak, then the opportunistic “little enemies” can particularly affect your metabolic function and cause further deterioration. If yeast and parasitic infections are not treated, the weight problem will persist.

Hypothyroidism:
Severe hypothyroidism manifests symptoms such as obesity, constipation, dry skin, cold intolerance, hair loss, puffy face and mental retardation. Contributing factors include congenital and environmental causes. The latter includes poor eating habits. Constant excessive consumption of sugar causes overwork and exhaustion of the thyroid gland. On top of it all, untreated yeast and parasitic infections will further weaken thyroid function.

Psychological Stress:
Some people manage to be in constant crises. For those who are used to a dysfunctional behavioral pattern, they feel anxious or uneasy if their lives are peaceful. Somehow they have to create a situation where there will be chaos, and thus their frantic behavior can be justified. People who are not able to manage stress effectively will usually indulge themselves in emotional eating. Food is a symbol of love and comfort across cultures, especially for those who associate food with parental approval and attention.

Spiritual Imbalance:
Many overweight people suffer from spiritual imbalance because they carry a great deal of  “unfinished business” on their shoulders. In most cases, they crave approval from their parents. Some are angry and hurt because they were abused sexually, mentally or physically during their childhood. The predominant emotions are anger, resentment, grief, regret and guilt. Some even feel sorry for themselves and feel their negative feelings are well justified. Usually they are unclear about the purpose of their existence. They tend to “live to eat,” instead of “eat to live.”

Treatment for Overweight Conditions
In order to correct weight problems, you need to learn to nourish your body and mind on a regular basis. Getting and staying trim is a lifelong project. No crash diets, injections, medications, or surgeries can achieve this purpose.

Anti-Yeast Nutritional Program:
The first step toward the right direction is to wean yourself from foods containing sugar, dairy, wheat, yeast, alcohol, caffeine, nicotine and chemicals. Stop putting highly-allergic foods into your body. Give your thyroid a chance to rest and regenerate. Allow your body to avoid the assault of wrong foods, and be nourished by nutrients from the right kind of foods. Herbal Therapy:
For those of you who have a long history of being overweight, you need to consider herbal formulas specifically designed for weight control as an additional measure. An anti-yeast nutritional program is for giving your body a new start; while an herbal program is for eliminating the existing toxins in your body and revitalizing your sluggish metabolism. A well-formulated herbal program for weight control should have the following three functions:

1. Control Your Appetite:
Most Americans overeat. A traditional Chinese belief is that you should not eat more than a handful of food for each meal. For those of you who love to eat, you probably wish that you had a larger hand now (smile)! Even though some of you are well aware of what you should eat and what you shouldn’t eat, when an abundance of food is available, your will power often gives in. 2. Eliminate Fats from Foods:
The Standard American Diet (SAD) usually contains 40% to 60% fat in a given meal (A cheeseburger is a good example.) If you wish to reduce weight, you need to learn to eat sensibly and avoid foods containing a high amount of fat. However, as a human being, sometimes you deviate knowingly or unknowingly. A good herbal formula for weight control will also eliminate a good portion of the fat you put in your body. In other words, before the newly ingested fats have a chance to be stored in your body, these herbal formulas will be able to expel them provided that you are not overloading your body with fatty foods all the time.

3. Burn the Existing Fat in Your Body and Turn It into Energy:

The good news is that even if you fail, the universe will provide you with unlimited opportunities to go through the tests again and again until you pass them!  Therefore, your clock is not ticking. Time is irrelevant!

Releasing your psychological toxins can allow you to move on with your life with a clean slate. If psychologicalstress becomes paralyzing, then you should seek competent professional help. Meditation, prayer, yoga, hypnotherapy, acupuncture, acupressure, chiropractic, massage, biofeedback, exercise and an anti-yeast nutritional approach can also be helpful in reducing stress physically and psychologically.

Restore Spiritual Balance:
Spiritually speaking, we all chose our destiny when we were born into this life. No matter what kind of life situation we are in, we are given an opportunity to prove that we have the strength, tenacity, wisdom and faith to overcome obstacles and excel. The only way to get out of the rut of a dysfunctional life situation is to exercise your unconditional love and wisdom.

The following are four specific steps to attain this enlightened state: understand, accept, forgive and release. When you are able to understand that everything happens for a good reason, you will be able to accept the outcome of any life event. When you can accept the purpose of a life event, you will be able to forgive those who you believe have done you wrong. When you can forgive, you will be able to release all the grievance associated with the event. When you no longer carry the old baggage, you no longer carry the excess weight! Love and respect yourself as the most unique, creative and miraculous person in the world. If you cannot accomplish this on your own, seeking help from a spiritually-oriented, well-grounded therapist can be fruitful.

Your weight and health problems did not occur overnight. Naturally, becoming trim and getting well takes time. Only your understanding of the illness and wellness process, commitment and patience will bring you positive and permanent results!
