The Healing Power of Ecstatic Movement
By Bradford Keeney
(Includes a 40-minute CD of Drumming Music)
Ecstatic trembling and shaking are the natural expressions of a spirited body. Shaking is brought on by divine inspirations and epiphanies. In this state, we are attuned, calibrated, infused with spirit and reborn. Shaking bodies and vibrating touch have been known throughout the world as powerful forms of healing. Heightened arousal, whether dancing wildly, jumping or shaking is as valuable a healing and transformational practice as meditating in a lotus position.

The author, a scholar, therapist and shaman, goes on to tell us about other experiences and outcomes such as an inner-force awareness, altered states of consciousness, mystical experience and deepened understanding of life or enlightenment as a result of a shaking experience, whether gentle or strong.

Some cultures, such as those of the Elder Bushman shamans of the Kalahari, descendants of the original custodians of shaking medicine (who granted this author full authority to speak about their healing and religious ways) kept this as their most treasured secret and source of vitality. Shaking is considered to be their most powerful medicine. It is the author’s belief that the next paradigm for healing will be based on awareness and advocacy of a whole cycle of healing, alternating between ecstatic arousal and deep relaxation.

Becoming a Mystic in a 9 to 5 World
By Sri Ram Kaa and Kira Raa
In the previous two books by these “mystical couple” authors, the discussions centered on explaining the ideas and theories of Density Consciousness, Spiritual Activism, Ascension Awareness, and Ascension Consciousness. The focus was on providing background, defining the “2012 choice” and giving guidance on how to deal with coming changes, utilizing teachings from the Archangelic realm. This is the third book in the series.

Matter cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be reformulated. What existed before still exists, only not in the same form we once recognized. We have the ability to perceive energies that surround us and to navigate through other dimensions, and experience those energies in new ways and intensities.

This book continues to offer assistance at this time in the Earth’s history by integrating many universal spiritual principles and teaching how they can be applied to our daily life. The authors explain there is a world that exists outside of our everyday perception and they show us how to discover pathways through time and space. They provide guidance, exercises and illustrations of a fairly straightforward and attainable process.

We are invited to find our true freedom by embarking on a cosmic journey consisting of the past, present and future. Here we are shown how to intertwine spiritual consciousness into our lives every day.

Time Acceleration and Awakening the World Mind
By Barbara Hand Clow
The Mayan Calendar, which is approaching its end in 2012, is a bridge to galactic wisdom that fosters personal growth and human evolution. The Earth experienced an alignment to the center of the Milky Way Galaxy, which has fundamentally altered the physical and psychic field of our planet. Time and consciousness are accelerating, giving us a new understanding of the universe.

Learning secrets of the Maya can inspire humans to become enlightened. By unearthing the meaning behind the calendar and its message for modern civilization, this book investigates the Maya science of time cycles of the Mayan Calendar, which tracks the last 5,125 years of history, known as the “Long Count” and brings new perspectives on all the Underworlds that constitute the prophetic Mayan Calendar system.

Author Barbara Hand Clow, an internationally-acclaimed ceremonial teacher, author, and Mayan Calendar researcher, shares her insight and understanding as a trained Shaman. Carl Johan Calleman, whose works Clow uses as the main focus of this book, holds a Ph.D. in Physical Biology and has served as an expert on cancer for the World Health Organization.

He began his studies on the Mayan calendar in 1979 and now lectures throughout the world.

This book covers not only the Mayan calendar, but its connection to the time-keeping and calendar of other civilizations and religions, the concepts of acceleration, enlightenment, philosophies and predictions for the future of the earth, including  astrological transits through 2012.

A Transformational Journey from Priest to Shaman
By Peter Calhoun
While a parish priest, author Peter Calhoun began to experience a spontaneous awakening of spiritual or paranormal abilities. He saw future scenarios that he felt could usher in a requiem for humanity. He saw a state of being, a lost Eden that could be rediscovered. After a series of disturbing visions, and embarking on a three-decade personal journey of enlightenment, Calhoun relinquished his belief system and shifted his perspective, stepping out of his role within the Episcopal priesthood, into that of a shaman.

Calhoun realized that organized religion would not get him to where he longed to be on a spiritual level. Too much historical knowledge had been suppressed from early on and he was going to have to learn and re-learn everything from the beginning, at a mystical level. His journeys have been successful, as he rediscovered knowledge that was destroyed. The good news is he learned that mystics and healers of other spiritual traditions shared a common message: the experience of a conscious and ecstatic union with their surrounding world.

This book is a collection of stories about the adventures, epiphanies and challenges of his spiritual journeys, each with its own special lesson or revelation. The author helps us to re-examine our core beliefs, and think and feel in a way that is in harmony with the natural and mystical that surrounds us.

The Shamanic Teachings of the Plant World
Edited by J.P. Harpignies with contributions by Terence McKennaAndrew Weil, Alex Grey, Kat Harrison, and others
Editor and author J.P. Harpignies is the associate producer of the national Bioneers Conference. As such, he has gathered discussions and presentations from 23 leading environmental and social visionaries — ethno-botanists, anthropologists and researchers — to explore the relevance of plant-induced visions and relevant teachings to the earth’s current ecological state.

The hunting and gathering traditions of mankind color most of our history. Neolithic shamans gathered medicinal plants from the wild in order to interpret the world and gain critical insight. Psychoactive plants have long served people as enhancers of perception, thinking and healing. Our indigenous knowledge of plants has not been lost, but it has evolved. The authors, in one way or another, believe we need to focus more on learning, reviving, and practicing our ancient skills in this area.

This book addresses the radical differences between ancient, shamanic and animistic views to those of Western ideologies. Included are stories and anecdotes, examinations of culture and diverse interpretations from different cultures that help us to better understand our ecology. Through this collection of essays, we see instances where plants have been important guides on how we can live in harmony with the natural world that surrounds us.

The Science and Art of Transformation
By Dr. Richard Bartlett, D.C., N.D.
In this book Dr. Bartlett builds upon the seminars he teaches on the subject of Matrix Energetics, which is what he calls the astonishing discovery he made: A simple healing process that merges energy with focused intent to make pain disappear instantly. Dr. Bartlett gives access to this  healing practice which he says is available for anyone to bring about instantaneous ‘healing’ and transformation if  one can set aside preconceived notions, borrow a few theories from the cutting-edge of quantum physics, and learn some simple and practical techniques.

You will enter a world of amazing possibility which begins with the scientific frame of reference, incorporates down-to-earth stories from practitioners to open your mind, and provides tools you can use NOW for your own transformation, healing, and shifting any situation whatsoever.  Dr. Bartlett makes it easy to do as he lays out the concepts and steps in a simple, practical and even humorous approach.
This book also glides into other phenomena of science, such as quantum physics and weird reality to provide an understanding of how it works. There are practical suggestions for further study and supporting videos from his seminars and a message board available at: One video (accessed only through pass code by people who purchase the book) gives a demonstration on how to use the method.

Nine Practices for Creating Peace and Balance from the World’s Spiritual Traditions
By Sage Bennet, PhD
The author, an ordained minister of Agape International Center of Truth, provides a simple, easy- to-understand approach to bringing the spiritual traditions of  nine prevailing religions into our own lives through practical, powerful and effective rituals. After experiencing her own dark night of the soul she looked into and lived the practices of the world’s religious traditions, eventually experiencing a profoundly deep healing.

“Wisdom Walk” explores practices from Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Judaism, Christianity, Native American, Taoism and the New Thought tradition.
I like the warm and easy conversational tone to her writing as she makes each of these ancient practices perfectly understandable, while showing the power they hold to bring personal peace, inner wisdom and awareness about the needs of others. Each chapter contains relevant quotes and personal experiences from each of the spiritual traditions and offers action steps for applying the various practices to our lives.

“Wisdom Walk” provides an enlightening way to strengthen our own spiritual path, as well as widen our understanding of other ways to wisdom without compromising our own allegiance.
If we are receptive, these teachings can transform our fear and help overcome prejudice and misunderstandings about other religions.
