Wellness and Abundance
for all
at all times (Part 2)
by Dr. Juliet Tien (Dr. J), D. N. Sc.
I am responsible for what I see.
I choose the feelings I experience.
I decide upon the goal I would achieve.
Everything that seems to happen
to me I ask for,
and receive as I have asked.

Definition of Abundance
According to Webster’s dictionary, abundance is defined as “plenty;
more
than enough.” I would like to add that abundance is not measured by
how
much money you have in the bank, how many properties you own, or how
many green bills you hide under the mattress. Abundance is your feeling
of having plenty or enough. Your feeling of abundance depends on how
you
can creatively utilize your existing resources to get what you need,
want, and desire. Many people use the New York event as an excuse to
cover up their “pre-existing condition”: fear of scarcity.
How to be abundant?
Gratitude, generosity and readiness to receive are three major elements
that will help you to be abundant at all times, whether it is peacetime
or wartime.
Gratitude
Be grateful for what you have. Focus on what you have, instead of what
you don’t have. Even with the September 11th event, there is a silver
lining in the cloud. I have been a naturalized citizen for almost 30
years. This is the first time I have seen Americans united! Many
people
ask, “Why did God** allow this to happen?” My answer is, “Why not? God
knows what he is doing!” When I see all these American flags flying on
the freeways, my heart is filled with warmth and my eyes are filled
with
tears. I say to myself, “Finally, people appreciate America now!” As a
first-generation immigrant, I deeply appreciate what America has to
offer me, regardless of the challenges I go through in my life. The
September 11th event is actually a test. Do you choose to allow the
fear of scarcity to escalate or do you choose to be grateful for what
we
are experiencing? The choice is yours. With every choice, there are
consequences.
Generosity
As I detailed in my previous article, “Four Steps to Ultimate Freedom ? The
Course of Miracle Perspective,” which appeared in the September/October 2001
issue of Awareness Magazine, generosity is the first step. As I stated in that
article, “We do not own anything, not even our bodies! Our bodies are
‘rental properties’ that we have to give up when we leave a given life.”
The September 11th event is a perfect example. Since we don’t own anything, we
might as well be generous! The golden rule, “What goes around, comes
around,” never fails. Therefore, if you want more money, give money; if you want
more time, give time; if you want more love, give love. Some people consider
themselves generous through giving sporadically. In order to receive constantly,
you must give with commitment and discipline. It is like a pipeline. If you want
resources continuously pouring out from one end, you must consistently feed
resources into the other. The secret of continuing abundance is very simple:
tithing! Give at least ten (10) percent of your income to your favorite
charity and/or people who facilitate your awakening. Ten percent before taxes,
not after; before paying your bills, not after! God takes this 10% to do
work for you to bring you prosperity. If you bargain with God, you shortchange
yourself! Treat this as a “research project,” if you will, for at least
six months, and see your fear of scarcity vanish!
Readiness to Receive
Many people desire abundance, yet they don’t necessarily feel deserving.
Have you heard of people’s lives being turned upside down after winning a
lottery? There is no order of difficulty for God to bring you miracles.
The question is: “Are you ready for them?” Many people are caught in the
fear of success and fear of failure at the same time. This fear could come from
trauma in the earlier part of this life or in previous lives (if you believe in
reincarnation). If you have any doubt, you need to define your purpose of
life. The purpose of life for any individual in any given life is to learn, grow
and expand, and help others to do the same. Abundance will facilitate your
learning, growing and expanding process. Abundance will also allow you more
power to help others learn, grow and expand. A clear understanding of your
purpose of life will help you feel ready for any miracles that God might bring
to you!
If you look at history closely, you will find that revolutions occurred
when there was extreme poverty. Terrorists strike because they suffer
from fear of scarcity. They do not know how to create their own
wellness
and abundance. They need education, inspiration and spiritual
awakening.
Bombing them out of shape will not teach them anything. Violence
breeds
violence, while peace breeds peace.
*I prefer to use the neutral word “event” over any negative terms, so
that we will not continue to give power to the negative energy.
**Some people may feel more comfortable relating to Jesus, Buddha,
Mo-hammed, or Bahá’u’lláh, than to “God.” As long as you can connect
with a supernatural power, language is irrelevant.
