Tips on Keeping Mind and Body Young
By Jesse Anson Dawn
Jesse Anson Dawn, author of the national award-winning book, Never “Old”, speaks out about a most stirring subject: how to counteract the unwanted effects of “aging.”
“Why do you choose a ‘mind over matter’ approach to rejuvenation over the chemical and surgical methods now so popular?”
In the name of the often deceptive concept called “progress,” not only is too much of natural creation wrongly destroyed, but vast amounts of physical well being is damaged by the chemo-surgical, so-called “progressive” approach to rejuvenation —an overblown, overly expensive approach that I’ve yet to see be truly effective.
Meanwhile, truly working self-healing methods of bodily renewal continue to get pushed aside or ignored, for how can mindpower reach its full potential while being battled by the gluttonous profiteering of the chemo-surgical empire, a system which leap-frogs over “mind over matter” with its impersonal “we-don’t-mind-and-you-don’t-really-matter” approach.
But the struggle for a Conscious Body is hardly a new struggle, although it remains a crucial one, for we are battling a profits-over-perception version of reality which has dominated the “medical” world for centuries — a system which, for one thing, discourages creative expression. And of course it’s especially difficult to express oneself creatively when senses are dulled by various chemicals, when conversations across dinner tables have eroded to such as this:
“I can’t remember if I took my Prozac today. Do I look depressed?”
But the medication — mania now wooing the Western world is hardly a laughing matter, especially in the U.S., this chemo-crazed country where studies reveal this alarming fact: CURRENTLY SOME 106,000 AMERICANS DIE EACH YEAR FROM THE SIDE-EFFECTS OF PHARMACEUTICAL DRUGS, MORE ANNUAL CASUALTIES THAN THOSE KILLED BY THE VIETNAM AND KOREAN WARS COMBINED. And yet despite all this carnage, still the media remains inundated with comely, “down-home” ads hyping dangerous drugs which cause untold amounts of casualties — all while government agencies spend billions of dollars a year prosecuting such things as relatively harmless marijuana — all while wearing well-bribed blinders to a pharmaceutical plague ten times as lethal as AIDS, a chemo-mania far more deadly than all the homicides and suicides combined.
Thus it’s no wonder that many of us take the natural, far safer route to bodily repair, especially after seeing that the natural way is far more effective, plus vastly more practical. Okay, maybe unchemicalized individuality does take a bit more effort, a bit more time away from Babylonian programming to do some self-education about how the body really works. But the results are surely worth it — surely worth an extra boost from the bodyspirit, helping us evolve into truly GETTING WHAT WE OURSELVES DESIGN AND ASK FOR.
